NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
National Honor Society is a group that was created to recognize high school students in America who model good leadership, scholarship, service, and character.
Smoky Valley senior, junior, and sophomore students are eligible for membership. NHS members are required to maintain a 3.70 GPA. In addition, membership requires enrollment in honors courses and an application process that includes modeling the above characteristics, receiving recommendations from teachers, and gaining acceptance through a faculty committee.
There are more than one million students involved in NHS in the United States where members are actively involved in school activities and community service projects.
