Local Scholarships Currently Available

  • RUDD Foundation Scholarships.  Apply online starting October 11, 2021, at Applicants must be a resident of the state of Kansas, must have a cumulative gpa of 3.0 or above, must be graduating high school in 2022 and be enrolling in fall of 2022, must demonstrate financial need (be pell-eligible), and must attend Emporia State, Fort Hays State University or Wichita State University.

  • Prairieland/John Deere Technician Scholarship.  Earn a two-year scholarship for select community colleges and vocational schools, plus cost for tools is covered.  Find-out more information at  Apply before January 15, 2022!

  • National Honor Society Scholarship (NHS).  Please see attachment to apply!  Apply before December 1, 2021.

  • Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest.  See Mrs. Charvat for more information.  Deadline is March 31, 2022.  

  • McPherson Community Foundation Scholarships.  please check-out the website to see if you qualify!  Please use a non-school email to apply.  Applications are due February 15, 2022.

  • American Legion Post #140 Scholarship.  Application is open to any high school senior who has had a relative serve in any branch of the US Armed Forces, this includes parents, siblings, grandparents, or aunts & uncles.  See Mrs. Charvat for an application.  Applications are due before February 28, 2022.  

  • Smoky Valley Community Foundation Scholarships are OPEN!  Please check out this website to apply before February 15, 2022.  Several local scholarships are housed under the community foundation, including the following:

    • AJ Steinberg Music Scholarship--SVHS graduating seniors

    • Brandon Rogers Scholarship--SVHS graduating seniors

    • Clyde & Glenn Lindstrom Scholarship--SVHS students pursuing a vocational field

    • Dorothy J. Ziegler Music & Art Scholarship--SVHS senior majoring in the performing or visual arts

    • Judith K. Burch Scholarship--SVHS senior planning to attend Bethany College.  Preference given to students majoring in math, science or math/science education.

    • Louis, Ron & Tom Westman Scholarship--SVHS graduating seniors

    • Mona Peterson Community Service Scholarship--SVHS graduating seniors, the Smoky Valley Home Educators or the Lindsborg Area Home Educators

    • Smoky Valley Elementary Education Scholarships--SVHS graduating seniors or a home-school graduating student living in the Smoky Valley district planning to major in elementary education.
