Smoky Valley Technology Integration
Welcome Smoky Valley, where we work hard to make a difference in the lives of every child. Our teachers utilize many educational strategies in their classrooms, and technology integration is one of those areas that is emphasized in all schools from preschool to 12th grade. We strive to engage students by creating meaningful lessons, activities, and projects that encourage students to think at higher levels. Our technology resources allow our staff and students to reach their greatest potential.
We are a Mac District where we are 1:1 from 3rd through 12th grade. Our PreK-2nd grade students have access to different technology tools as well.
My name is Laura Leis and I am the Technology Integration and Support Specialist (TISS) for Smoky Valley Schools.
I am extremely excited about this role and the impact it has on the students and staff in our communities. This will be my 16th year in education, having taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. During that time, I have been an Instructional Coach - working with staff and students on technology integration, curriculum needs, and Professional development. I have a passion for technology in the classroom and STEM education, which brings many wonderful worlds together!
My family loves the Lindsborg community. My husband, Nick, is a lineman and enjoys the great outdoors, which is were we like to spend a lot of free time. My youngest, Kaitlyn, is very creative and makes beautiful artwork. She is a 5th grader at SVMS. Gabriel is my oldest and is studying Mechatronics at Wichita State University, which is combining both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. It has been a blessing to our family being a part of this Smoky Valley Community!
