Smoky Valley USD 400 proudly announces Gretchen Elliott, Smoky Valley High School art teacher, as the district's 2022 IMPACT Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Elliott is completing her 26th year in education with the past 16 years at Smoky Valley. In addition to her classroom duties, Mrs. Elliott is a huge supporter of student organizations and clubs such as the SVHS Art Club and Kay Club.
As part of the award, Mrs. Elliott will have a $500 classroom grant made available to her by the Smoky Valley Education Foundation. Additionally, Mrs. Elliott will be eligible to apply for the Kansas State Department of Education's Kansas Teacher of the Year program.
