USD 400 Smoky Valley is pleased to announce Mrs. Renee Krinhop as the district's 2023 Horizon Award nominee. Mrs. Krinhop is the Family & Consumer Science teacher at Smoky Valley High School.
The Horizon Award is sponsored by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) and is offered as a recognition of exemplary first-year teachers who perform in ways that distinguish them as outstanding. Mrs. Krinhop's work as an early career Kansas educator is distinguished by her incredible work ethic, her dedication to supporting her students in their pursuit of career and technical education, and her professionalism as a colleague to other Smoky Valley educators.
KSDE will name Regional Horizon Award winners based on applications submitted by district nominees from across the state. Announcements of regional award winners will be made in February, 2023. USD 400 supports Mrs. Krinhop's application for this honor and believes she is an excellent representative for the district and the state
