Mr. Couchman is a 1990 Graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in English Education. Monte received his master’s degree from Kansas State and District Leadership License from Friends University.
He was a teacher in Scott County, Anderson County, Concordia, and Buhler, before becoming the principal at Southeast of Saline School District from 1999 to 2015. After serving as Vice President of Instruction at Salina Area Technical College, Monte Couchman was hired as the Director of Student Learning at USD #400, Smoky Valley Public Schools in 2016.
