Usd 400 District Technology

Smoky Valley USD 400 has a strong technology infrastructure.  Lead by an outstanding technology team, this technology base provides for the district’s internet, server, and laptop capabilities.  Mike Rose joined the Smoky Valley technology team in 2007.  As the district technology director, Mr. Rose  oversees the technology in all of the buildings within the district as well as the Smoky Valley Virtual Charter School. Mr. Rose brings a depth of IT experience with him to Smoky Valley.  Mr. Rose formerly was the Director of Technology at Sterling College.  Prior to his position at Sterling College, he was the interim Tech Director at Buhler USD 313.

Brandon Rogers is the Laptop Care Unit Director (LCU).  The Laptop Care Unit (also known as the LCU) is manned by two Apple Certified technicians:  Brandon Rogers and Josh Smith.  Both of these technicians repair and maintain the laptops within the district.  Furthermore, they assist in the daily operations of the district such as Wi-Fi and server maintenance.

Brandon Rogers is a former Smoky Valley alumni who has a degree in Information Networking Telecommunications (INT) from Fort Hays State University.  Josh Smith completed his Apple Certification in 2008, adding to our technology team.  All laptop care and repair is conducted “in house” saving both time and money for all Smoky Valley students.
